Why experience from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, Hungary and other countries in the region is not always enough when preparing for Macedonia's e-Invoice system

Skopje, July 2026

Over the past period, a significant number of companies in North Macedonia have been actively following developments related to e-Invoicing and evaluating different approaches for complying with upcoming requirements.

At the same time, the market has been flooded with solutions, presentations, webinars and experiences originating from neighboring countries such as Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania and Hungary. While these experiences can be useful, they cannot always be directly applied in North Macedonia because each country has its own processes, regulations and technical architecture for electronic invoicing.

Many countries in the region rely on XML-based standards such as UBL, eSLOG or country-specific XML schemas, while the Macedonian e-Invoice platform is built around JSON-based API communication and its own integration model.

As a result, companies are not only asking:

"How do we implement e-Invoicing?"

but increasingly a more important question:

"Which approach is the most suitable for our organization?"

Why Did We Create the Readiness Program?

According to Venko Gligorov from Login Systems, the need for such a program became increasingly evident after numerous e-Invoice Masterclass trainings, presentations and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) sessions organized together with Ekonomsko-Praven Konsalting FV and accredited by the Institute of Certified Accountants (ISOS).

During the past period, we had the opportunity to educate and speak with nearly 1,000 accountants, finance professionals, managers, IT experts and business owners. We noticed that after the training sessions many organizations still had the same questions: Which approach is most appropriate? Who will own the process? Is the government portal sufficient? Is ERP integration required? How will incoming e-Invoices be handled? At that point, we realized that training alone is not enough, and software alone is not enough either. What is missing is a structured step that connects knowledge with implementation. That is exactly the purpose of the e-Invoice Readiness Program. - Venko Gligorov, Login Systems

The Challenge Is Not Always Technology

Our experience shows that most implementation risks do not originate from technology itself.

More commonly, organizations struggle with:

  • Unclear roles and responsibilities

  • Insufficiently defined business processes

  • An inappropriate choice between Web, ERP or Gateway approaches

  • Lack of preparation for incoming e-Invoice processing

  • Insufficient testing before go-live

  • Decisions based on assumptions rather than analysis

As a result, companies often invest in a solution before they have a clear understanding of how e-Invoicing will operate in their day-to-day business environment.

Introducing the e-Invoice Readiness Program

Login Systems developed the e-Invoice Readiness Program as a structured preparation program for organizations planning to implement e-Invoicing.

The objective of the program is not to configure software or perform system integration.

Instead, its goal is to help organizations obtain:

  • Clear visibility into their invoicing processes

  • Well-defined roles and responsibilities

  • Understanding of different implementation models

  • Identification of risks and potential challenges

  • A recommended implementation approach

  • A structured roadmap for next steps

The e-Invoice Readiness Program serves as the missing link between learning about e-Invoicing and successfully implementing an operational solution.

Who Is the Program Designed For?

The e-Invoice Readiness Program is intended for:

  • Companies preparing for e-Invoicing

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central users

  • Pantheon users

  • Companies using local ERP solutions

  • SAP and Oracle users

  • Finance and accounting teams

  • Business owners and management responsible for strategic decisions

Whether an organization is considering ERP integration, a Gateway solution, or a web-based approach, the program helps ensure decisions are based on real business requirements rather than assumptions.

Part of a Broader e-Invoice Ecosystem

The Readiness Program is part of Login Systems' broader e-Invoice approach, which includes:

  1. e-Invoice Masterclass , understanding concepts, regulations and requirements

  2. e-Invoice Readiness Program, preparation and decision-making

  3. e-Invoice Implementation, Business Central API and Gateway solutions based on LSM e-Invoice Macedonian API

  4. Support and Continuous Improvement, stable production operation and ongoing optimization

This enables organizations to move systematically from awareness, through preparation, to successful implementation.

A Clear Plan Instead of Assumptions

At a time when the market is saturated with information, competing offers and experiences from different countries, companies need a structured approach that helps them make informed decisions.

The e-Invoice Readiness Program was created precisely for this purpose: to help organizations reduce uncertainty, identify risks and begin implementation based on a clear plan rather than assumptions.
